Liquid Lacquer Review Post!

*Some of the polishes in this post were provided to me for my honest review, others were purchased with my own money*

Hey all! I have some seriously great polishes to show you today. They're from the wonderful Liquid Lacquer,  and I am so excited to show them to you all!

A Calm Does Not Suit Me

Uhm, hi, how great is this one? It reminds me of snow, which is great when I'm dying of the humidity in Jersey. ACDNSM is a gorgeous polish, and it was opaque in 2 coats on me! I love the way the glitters look like they're floating in the whtie crelly base. And such a good choice on the glitter colors, it's not a crazy rainbow jumble, and it goes so well all together.
Formula: great! Lots of glitter on the nail, covered VNL easily.

Collide into You

CiY took me 3 thin coats, but so worth it! This is on its own, and I am obsessed with the magenta circles with this shade of turquoise! I also really love how this shade looks on me, so it was a definite winner.
Formula: good! Glitter was easy to get onto nail, not too thick base.

Damn It's Cold over Essie Boxer Shorts

This glitter is in a clear base, so I put it over Boxer Shorts. This polish, to me, reminds me of  ACDNSM, just not in a crelly base. Like it's the same color family, but you can put it over anything:] I saw a swatch of it over dark blue, over at A Little Polish... loooove!
Formula: good amount of glitter with one coat!

Hydra over Sally Hansen Ion

Yes yes yes. This is all sorts of perfect! And probably my favorite glitter topper I have in my collection. I'm obsessed with the color combinations on this one! The different shaped mint and grey glitters are so subtly beautiful together! I wore this mani twice in two weeks, I loved how it looked on the nail. Also the stars? Perfect.
Formula: good! easy to get  smaller glitters on nail, a tiny bit of fishing to get stars.

Kissing on the Rooftop over OPI Funny Bunny

Okay, all the yellowy or orangey parts you see there? Ignore them and imagine them as iridescent glitter. Makes the whole mani a zillion times better, trust me.
Formula: also great, not hard to get stars, iridescent glitters are abundant in one coat.

Quarter Life Crisis over China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint On

Love the circles so much in this, and the color combination is really fun for spring and summer!
Formula: eh, not as good as hoped, just wish there was more glitter in the base, had to do some digging and placing here.

Rain Song

Stunninggggggggggg. You need this. Right now. I LOVE unexpected holo colors and this is in my top 5 holos. The effect is definitely more linear IRL, trust me. And the shade is gorrrrrrrrrrrrrgeous. Get it. Now.
Formula: great! Two coats, and good to go.

In conclusion- just trust me and get Rain Song and Hydra, because I love them too much. It's not even funny. Totally great polishes, great customer service, and fast shipping. Definitely go check out Liquid Lacquer! I can't wait to place another order. I'm definitely in need of more holos from her!

Some LynBDesigns Polishes!

*Polishes in post were provided for my honest review*

Hey all! I have some really fun polishes from LynBDesigns from her Twitterpatted collection. Just a note on formula: all of these polishes had a smooth formula with no difficulty of getting nice sparkle on the nail. All were sheer, and so I have some layering options for you below:] 4 coats on index finger for all of these pictures, then one coat over differing base colors for my middle to pinky nails.

Dharma: Alone, over OPI You Only Live Twice, Orly Wild Wisteria, and CG Snap My Dragon.
This was a super fun color! I've been really into pinks lately and this has some gorgeous blue shimmer running through it. I loved it over the OPI, it took the polish to the next level.

Verna: Alone, over Revlon Royal, SH Breezy Blue, Zoya Natty
Okay, I think Verna over Royal is amazing, but I also loved it over the light blue! Very pretty!! Like

Harriet: alone, over BL The Old Bill, OPI My Vampire is Buff, Cult Nails Bitten.
Favorite look: alone! It's such a complex shimmer this has going on, and I really liked it with my skin tone. A huge huge fan of this one!

Millie: alone, over Essie Where's my Chauffeur?, Revlon  Velvet Rope, CG Manhunt

Stella: alone, over Essie Where's my Chauffeur?, Revlon  Velvet Rope, CG Manhunt

Okay, these two clearly can't be worn alone, but I LOVE THEM. These are my favorites of the collection! They're just both really delicate and sparkly without being overbearing and just..ahh. Yes. They're both so pretty over WMC? !!

PS Please check out my blog sale here ! Some ass broke off my passenger mirror on my car and I'm selling my excess polishes to pay for it. Thank you!!!

TT: Fictional Animal Print Mani

First, I want to start off my saying that my prayers are with all those affected yesterday in Boston. I have many dear friends in the city (who are all safe, thank God), and the news was truly heartbreaking.

Second, and this segue sucks, here's some sparkly stuff for you to look at! So I have 2 different manis, since I couldn't decide which one was less awkward. I LOVE the layering I did for the first one, but then nail art... not my thing, as you'll see. Here's my attempt at making a (holographic and sparkly) dragon:

1 coat Nars Zulu, 1 coat LA Girls Teal Dimension, 1 coat Wet N Wild Emerald The Crown Jewel. See what I mean?! THIS, I can get behind!

This.... nope.

So then I tried doing a unicorn "print" with layering. I had some milky pink jelly (totally blanking on the name, sorry!) and I sandwiched Lacquistry's Chick-a-dee doo-da in between coats of that, then topped it with Lynnderella Bride of Franken.

Trust me on this, it looked way better in person. The iridescent glitter just came out yellow in pictures :/

Deep Blue Lonesome Ocean

Hi all! I have to start with something completely non-nail related. Guys, I made bacon jam last night. Bacon. Jam. Let that sink in. I followed this recipe: http://www.notquitenigella.com/2009/10/08/bacon-jam-your-wildest-dreams-come-true/ and it was so good! I'm a little bacon crazy, so I had to try this recipe ASAP. haha, okay, on to the nails.

Today, I have for you my personal favorite way to wear Pahlish Lonesome Ocean. While I like the polish by itself, I think that 3 coats of it is just way too much going on so I put it over OPI Roadhouse Blues and tada! Better:)

An Apology

Hi all. So I haven't been posting here in a long long time, and I'm sincerely so so sorry about that. The stress of the semester really got to me and then right after, someone dear to me passed away and I got in a blogging funk and just couldn't handle it anymore. So, again, I truly apologize for being so abruptly MIA. I'm trying to get back in the swing of things, I just posted a lot of new polishes on the Etsy store here. And I have a ton of nail pictures to share with you and some TT stuff to catch up on. So here's a little something till I can get back online. Thank you for sticking with me! <3 p="p">

Where's My Chauffeur plus glitter!

Hey lovelies. It's my last day of finals, which means it's my last completely stressed out day of the year! I'm taking my Arabic final at 4, then I'm going home to sleep for 15 hours straight. Anyway, I have a fun mani I did last week to show you, it's Essie Where's My Chauffeur topped with a polish I made myself with lots of different shapes and sizes of white glitter & two kinds of iridescent glitter (blue and orangey) with gold and purple shimmer. I loved this mani so so much. I want to try this with BL Old Bill too! I think that combo would be really pretty together:)

A Black and White Twinsie Tuesday

Hey ladies! Sorry this is late, I scheduled it for the wrong day, I'm a doofus. Anway, I hope everyone's December is going well! I'm basically drowning under finals and papers and projects, so without further ado, here's 2 Black and White manis! Both glitter toppers are made by me just for fun :] The first is over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and the second over Wet N Wild Black Creme.

One Bad Apple

Hey all! I hope everyone's thanksgivings went well:) mine was great, I got to spend a nice week with the family, and I was in charge of the deserts for Thanksgiving dinner, so I had fun with that (if you're wondering, I made a maple & roasted pear cheesecake and a banana split brownie pie). Anyway, I have an older polish from 2Chix to show you today, One Bad Apple. I wore it on top of Essie Bikini So Teeny and I loved the combination! I just used one coats of OBA here, and I had no problems at all:)

A Thanksgiving-y Twinsie Tuesday!

Hey ladies! Welcome to the Thanksgiving edition of TT:] I have such a lovely glitter to show you tonight. It's from Darling Diva Polish, and though it's released in a holiday collection, it fits right in with the Thanksgiving feel: here's FUUUUUUUUUUUDGE over Sally Hansen CSM Bittersweet.

this polish is just screaming Thanksgiving and fall at me. I'm so glad I got it in now :]

Make sure you take a look at the other turkey day manis:]

Vegan Zombie

Happy Monday! Blah. It was such an effort to get up this morning. And I'm not looking forward to writing this paper I have at all. But bright side: the weather is phenomenal right now. I'm obsessed. I currently can't decide what to wear on my nails, but I'm hoping inspiration will strike soon.

Today's polish is the lovely Vegan Zombie from Polish Revolution. The description on this is "light gray jelly [with] fine deep blue glitter, medium hexes in light green, light green holo, satin white, green squares, and larger satin white hexes". The fine glitters didn't really translate as blue to me, they just seemed black, but I liked them nonetheless. I tried this polish on its own, but I like it a lot better over OPI My Pointe Exactly, which is what you see here. So this is 2 coats of the OPI and 2 of Vegan Zombie.

The Undead Spy Who Loved Me

Happy Halloween, New Jersey-ans! The Governor has pushed back the date on which Halloween can be celebrated here due to that bitch Sandy. Also, I think it's kind of funny that my sister shares her name with the hurricane. Anyway, I'm back on the East Coast, no longer in California :[ And school has started up again this week, so I'm not super pumped for that, but it's okay. Anyway, I have a pretty fun and sparkly mani for you today! I took OPI's The Spy Who Loved Me with me to Cali and loved how it looked, so when I got back, I wore it again with Lynnderella UnDead Red over it! I'm a big fan of this combination, the shimmer in Spy glints a little under the glitter.

Mmmm, all the red! This was 1 coat of UnDead Red over 2 coats of Spy. Spy had a lovely formula. There's a TON of gold shimmer in the bottle, but it translates on the nail as this crazy candy apple red shimmer. Loooove both of these! What do you think?

Two Triple Layering Experiments

Happy Twinsie Tuesday! Today, we were supposed to use 3 different polishes and layer them to achieve our manis. So I did a couple that I was trying to be unexpected with, but I'm not a 100% happy with any of them. Ah well! Here's some of my attempts haha. Oh and you're only getting 3 fingers, my pinky nail is sad and broken :[

Attempt #1
Sally Hansen Ion [which is gorgeous and what I wore all weekend]

+ Lynnderella Night Shade

+Milani Rad Purple [not thrilled with my application here, but the concept was fun!]

Attempt #2
Zoya Wednesday

+ Literary Lacquers A Midsummer Night's Dream

+ Darling Diva Polish Regulus [it made this weird murky purple...]

I hope my Twinsies had better luck with this than I did! :]
