TT July Fourth

I seriously keep forgetting when Tuesdays are and I'm the worst. Also, I FINALLY got a new laptop and can now actually go online for more than 5 minutes before my computer poops out on me. I'm in love. Okay, so here's my super fast Fourth of July mani:

I used Orly Royal Navy with a white glitter one-off I made, then DL Stop and Stare with CG Ring in the Red as the glitter topper.

Stay tuned tomorrow for some major nail spam!

TT: Nails painted by someone else!

Hey all! This was such a fun TT theme, I loved watching my sister do my nails. She chose the color and everything, and I must say, she did a great job on the pinky! The rest.. Haha, you'll see. This is 2 coats of a franken I made over a year ago, with no clean up or anything.

Twinsie Tuesday School Colors!

Hi, I'm silly and don't know the difference between AM and PM. Anyway. I'm currently a senior at the wonderful Rutgers University and our colors are scarlet and black. And our mascot is the Scarlet Knight! So I wanted to do a scarlet mani for this week's TT :) This is a polish I made for myself a few months ago, but I never named it.. Maybe after this, it'll be a Rutgers-themed name!!

Twinsie Tuesday- the Vintage Edition

Helloooo! Today's TR post is a vintage inspired mani & all I could think of was old Hollywood, glam red nails. So I used OPI Danke-Shiny Red to do a half moon manicure! This was by far the most common mani I saw when searching for a vintage nails online. And it didn't involve too much technical difficulty! Thank God;) Also, forgive the 3 finger pictures. I broke my index nail really badly (like bleeding badly) so it's definitely not ready for any sort of close up:(

Twinsie Tuesday's Red Mani

Happy Twinsie Tuesday! I'm currently sitting in an airport way too early in the morning and typing this up. So not fun. I got through security really fast, which is great, but now I have to sit an wait around for ever. Ah well... So for today's red mani, I have Girly Bits Hot Toddy. It's a really pretty, sort of burnt red, shade with this super stunning shimmer. Pam honestly has yet to disappoint with her gorgeous polishes. Here's 2 coats:

Birthstone Mani!

Happy Tuesday:) today our theme was a mani the same color of our birthstone. I'm a January baby (coming up soon!) so my birthstone is a garnet. I used Maybelline Ruby Rhinestones for my mani today:) I think it's pretty close to the garnet color, right?

Make sure to take a look at the beautiful birthstone manis my Twinsies have:

Twinsie Tuesday: 3D [Glasses] Mani!

Happy Tuesday, ladies! I'm swamped with essays right now, so you'll have to deal with short posts for a few days. But I have plenty of pictures, so we're good on that end [for once haha]. Anyway, this week's TT challenge was to do a 3D mani. But I: A)suck at nail art-like stuff; B)don't like things sticking off of my nails [seriously, I topcoat the crap out of my glitter manis]; and C)had negative amounts of time this week, so therefore, short of sticking random crap all over my nails [pony beads crossed my mind.... no lie], I was forced to cheat. Sorry Twinsies! I know they all have some kick-ass manis to show you today, but mine is considerably less so. Though hopefully a little funny? I don't know, I'm in a weird place with this essay, so everything's funny to me right now.

[So much for a short post]. Here's my 3D glasses mani to help you see all the other wonderful manis from the Twinsies!

& for reference:

I used Revlon Aloof, Revlon Royal, Zoya Sooki, and Wet n Wild Black Creme for this mani. Not the neatest in the world, but hey. I'm hopped up on caffeine and attempting to pound out a paper, so I think I get some leeway haha.

So, grab your 3d glasses and go take a look at my Twinsie's 3D manis!

The Undead Spy Who Loved Me

Happy Halloween, New Jersey-ans! The Governor has pushed back the date on which Halloween can be celebrated here due to that bitch Sandy. Also, I think it's kind of funny that my sister shares her name with the hurricane. Anyway, I'm back on the East Coast, no longer in California :[ And school has started up again this week, so I'm not super pumped for that, but it's okay. Anyway, I have a pretty fun and sparkly mani for you today! I took OPI's The Spy Who Loved Me with me to Cali and loved how it looked, so when I got back, I wore it again with Lynnderella UnDead Red over it! I'm a big fan of this combination, the shimmer in Spy glints a little under the glitter.

Mmmm, all the red! This was 1 coat of UnDead Red over 2 coats of Spy. Spy had a lovely formula. There's a TON of gold shimmer in the bottle, but it translates on the nail as this crazy candy apple red shimmer. Loooove both of these! What do you think?

Twinsie Tuesday: Halloween Inspired!

Hey lovelies! Sorry about the late post, I'm currently stuck in California, waiting out the hurricane on the East Coast. I pray everyone's doing well over there!! :/ I came to Cali for a wedding [which was amazing!] and my plane back got cancelled, so... here I am! Worse places to be, right? ;] Anyway, today I have my Halloween inspired mani to show you today. I planned on wearing this on actual Halloween, but I don't have a good blood red polish with me here. #nailpolishproblems. I've seen this over on a lot of polish blogs recently and I have no idea who came up with this idea [let me know if you do!], but I loved the idea and figured I could totally get away with this! So here's my blood dripping mani using Essie's Clutch Me if You Can on bare nails.

Heehee.. I love this one! So perfect and really really easy. I just did mine with one end of a bobby pin:]

Go look at my Twinsie's manis today to get spooked out!

BLOOD-UH!

heehee. More Halloween manis! I love October and Halloween and fall so much. All the themed nail polishes make me so happy! And all these colors that are fall-appropriate are so up my alley, it's amazing:] I love all the cozy reds and deep greens and dark browns and murky olives and burnt oranges everywhere you look. Perfection<3 nbsp="nbsp" p="p">
Today, I have a pretty gory polish to show you from Pretty and Polished. It reminds me of this video [which is still one of my favorites.. so cute!], so it makes me happy. Here's 3 coats of Blood Clot:

So I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this polish yet. It's definitely extremely interesting and unique, but in some lights, the glitter doesn't entirely show up.. So it looks like a bumpy red creme. I'm pretty sure this is because the glitter is matte and not reflective. BUT when the light catches the polish right, it looks really amazing and really bloody and perfectly gory. Maybe I should layer it? I'm not sure. Does anyone else have this polish? How do you all wear it?

Starlight and Sparkles Review [Part 1]

Hello all! I have half of the lovely polishes I got to review from Starlight and Sparkles. I've ordered from this shop before, and I'm a big fan of all the duochrome shimmers and glitters! I'm going away for the weekend and I definitely plan on wearing Unicorn Tears ! I wore Dragon Scales in August for a long weekend away, and it held up so so well. I didn't have any chipping and really minimal tip wear. I usually can't comment on how long a polish wears [I change my polish too much! haha], but I can definitely recommend these.

Din [over Essie Mesmerize]

Din is a duochrome glitter topcoat that "shifts through red, orange, gold, and green". It's also probably my favorite combination of these :] It really warmed up the blue base. I saw more orange and gold more than any other color and then some green was second runner up. Din is a subtle way to get some soft sparkle on your nail. Over black, it's definitely more of a dramatic effect, but I really wanted to see what these could do!

Splash Dream [over Essie Clutch Me if You Can]

Splash Dream is a really gorgeous chunky shimmer, "pink to gold, flashing violet at the extreme of the color range". I saw a lot of the pink-purple flashes and then when I tilted my hand around, I got some of that pretty gold to warm up the polish.

Ever Blue [over Zoya Song]

This has similar shimmer to Splash Dream, that duochrome-y, chunky shimmer. Ahh, so pretty. This is described as "blue to violet, flashing pink at the extreme of the color range". I mostly saw blue, then some purple, but I didn't get any pink over this base.

These were all smooth, formula wise. Super easy to use :] And you get a TON of shimmer and glitter onto the nail in one coat. Go to Starlight and Sparkles to take a look at all the GORGEOUS polishes she has!
