Twinsie Tuesday: 3D [Glasses] Mani!

Happy Tuesday, ladies! I'm swamped with essays right now, so you'll have to deal with short posts for a few days. But I have plenty of pictures, so we're good on that end [for once haha]. Anyway, this week's TT challenge was to do a 3D mani. But I: A)suck at nail art-like stuff; B)don't like things sticking off of my nails [seriously, I topcoat the crap out of my glitter manis]; and C)had negative amounts of time this week, so therefore, short of sticking random crap all over my nails [pony beads crossed my mind.... no lie], I was forced to cheat. Sorry Twinsies! I know they all have some kick-ass manis to show you today, but mine is considerably less so. Though hopefully a little funny? I don't know, I'm in a weird place with this essay, so everything's funny to me right now.

[So much for a short post]. Here's my 3D glasses mani to help you see all the other wonderful manis from the Twinsies!

& for reference:

I used Revlon Aloof, Revlon Royal, Zoya Sooki, and Wet n Wild Black Creme for this mani. Not the neatest in the world, but hey. I'm hopped up on caffeine and attempting to pound out a paper, so I think I get some leeway haha.

So, grab your 3d glasses and go take a look at my Twinsie's 3D manis!

Aphrodite Lacquers Review!

Happy Sunday, everyone. I just moved back to school yesterday, and I hate hate hate unpacking, so this is my break:] I have 2 lovely glitters from Aphrodite Lacquers today. They're both from the Friday Night Glitter Bombs collection just out, and when Rebecca and I were talking, she mentioned that they'd be great for jelly sandwiches. So that's exactly what I did!

Over 2 coats of Wet N Wild Fuchsia-Rama

Sandwiched between Fuchsia-Rama!

Eeeee! Catfight is described as "sheer red polish, with a pinkish purple shimmer, and multiple different red, black, and white glitters, including small red round holo glitters". The shimmer just would not show up on camera, but it's really nice IRL. I'm a sucker for pink and red combos, so this had me sold. I'll definitely be wearing this over 3 coats of Fuchsia-Rama next time. Also, I keep thinking of this polish as Catfish, not Catfight...

Disco Ball over Essie Berry Naughty

Over Berry Naughty, under Sinful Colors Daddy's Girl

Disco Ball is described as "sheer polish, with a silver shimmer, and multiple different silver, black, and white glitter". Shimmer city here! I love the black glitter over the dark base, and I like how the purple shimmer of Daddy's Girl looks over the white square glitters:]

With both of these, the formula was good and the glitter was pretty easy to get on the nail and spread. I love the addition of the shimmer, it makes the polish just a little more special to me. And again, Aphrodite Lacquers can be found here!

Red Ruby Sandwich!

Happy weekend, all:] Anyone have good plans for the weekend? I'm moving my little sister into school tomorrow! Weird... She's currently in our room packing while talking to herself. It's pretty amusing really. Heehee, don't tell her I talk about her ;]

So today, I have a mani I wore before I went off to camp this summer. I feel like I saw this type of combination before from Cordia over at Seriously Swatched, but I can't find the specific post:/ Anyway, I used Wet n Wild Fuchsia-Rama and Lynnderella Ruby Red Ruby for this mani:

I really really loved this. It made me feel like Valentine's day! 2 coats Fuchsia-Rama + 1 RRR + 1 FR. The formula of both of these was really great also. Which is funnny, since Wet n Wild is like.. a dollar and Lynnderellas are going for insane prices on Ebay.

Aphrodite Lacquers Review!

Hey ladies! I have a really fun review for you today, I'm really excited to share it. Aphrodite Lacquers has some really amazing polishes and I was lucky enough to receive some minis for review, so I went on a swatchfest last night! The first three are from the Outta This World collection, and the second three are from the Romance Novel collection. Let's get started! [Descriptions in quotations are taken from the Aphrodite Lacquers Etsy listings]

"Blackhole: black jelly polish with 3 different size black hex glitter."
Index: 2 coats
Middle: 3 coats
Ring: 1 coat over grey
Pinky: 1 coat over white

Index: 2 coats
Middle: 3 coats
Ring: 2 coats over grey
Pinky: 2 coats over white

"Asteroid: black polish (jellyish), with huge white glitter, small silver glitter, and silver shimmer."
Index: 3 coats
Middle: 1 coat over black
Ring: 1 coat over white

"Interstellar: black polish (jellyish) with huge purple glitter, small dark purple glitter, and small lavender glitter."
Index: 3 coats
Middle: 1 coat over black
Ring: 1 coat over white

Notes on Outta This World: the three polishes I got from this collection all applied pretty well, had a good consistency and covered really well in 3 coats. However, there was a lot of streakiness in the black pigment used, which made it hard to use over light colors. I'm going to try them over a dark-ish red or something soon, I think that would be a nice effect. Also, it was a little hard to get the larger glitter out of the bottles, but I think that's in part due to the fact that these are mini bottles.

Secret:"Hot pink jelly base, packed full of dark pink micro glitter, and white glitter"
Index: 2 coats
Middle: 1 coat over Wet n Wild Fuchsia-Rama

Smoulder: "Dark red jelly base, packed full of bright red micro glitter, and white glitter"
Index: 2 coats
Middle: 1 coat over OPI Smitten with Mittens

Enchant: "Aqua jelly base, packed full of green micro glitter, and white glitter"
Index: 2 coats
Middle: 1 coat over Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed

Notes on the Romance Novel collection: These 3 are definitely my favorites of the group. The colors are vibrant, the small glitter is so pretty, and I love the mix of the medium white glitter with the jelly bases. These had no problem at all with the pigments. And I was surprised at how opaque they were! Especially Secret, that was a surprise stand out for me. Enchant was definitely full coverage IRL, as well. I'm a huge fan of this collection, it definitely makes me want the other polishes in it. Secret is definitely going with me to camp, also. I'm pretty enamored by it, which is weird for me. Pinks are generally not my thing, but there's something about it!

What do you all think of these polishes? Aphrodite Lacquers has a new collection coming out next week, as well. I can't wait to see it!! Also, the customer service at AL is really great. She's such a sweetheart to work with as a reviewer, but also as a buyer.

*Disclaimer: these polishes were provided to me in return for an honest and fair review. All opinions are my own*

Gradient Nails!

Happy weekend, all:] I have my mani of the past few days to show you, I did a gradient following the Nailasaurus's tutorial and I loved it! I did mess up a little bit on my ring finger, but oh well. The first color is Sally Hansen CSM Barely Bluebell, and let me tell you, I am in LOVE. So perfect for summer. The second is Wet n Wild Cost is No Issue. I think if you layer these, you should get a cheaper version of Lippmann Mermaid Dreams, too:]

Makes me think of swimming in the ocean:] I wanna go to the beach!!

GlitterDaze Review!

Eee sorry for the late posts, all! I've been crazy busy recently, so postings are gonna be not so regular lol. Anyway, I have 3 Glitter Daze polishes to review for you today! I'm excited, it's my first real review haha. Plus the polishes are freaking stunning. I have Sour Diesel* and White Widow* from the Psychedelic collection and One Grape Love from her Valentines collection, I believe. Anyway, I love the colors here, I think they're really amazing for spring-summer, but you could definitely layer them over vampier colors in the fall & winter:] Here they are [a little larger than usual, also]:

Sour Diesel
Right to left: 3 coats of SD on index and middle fingers, then 1 coat over Revlon Rainforest on ring, and 1 coat over RBL Recycle on pinky.

I love the shimmer in this!! And the colors of the glitters are great, they really go well together.

White Widow: my FAVORITE
Right to left: 3 coats of WW on its own, 1 coat over OPI Steady as She Rose, 1 coat over Misa Grey Matters, and 1 coat over NOPI You're a Star.

I can't even with this. It's my absolute favorite, and really unexpected for me! Look at that shimmer!! Uhm yesyesyes. It has the same shimmer as Sally Hansen Mystic Lilac, I think, just a lot better haha.

One Grape Love
Right to left: 3 coats by itself, 1 coat over Sally Hansen Red Carpet, 1 coat over Wet N Wild Fuchsiarama, 1 coat over Milani Rad Purple

This looks like it has some shimmer in it which I love. This is definitely my second favorite:]

What do you all think?? I love these a lottttt, especially White Widow:]

*items marked with an asterisk have been provided for review, but all opinions are my own and are both real and honest. :]

Girly-Girl Challenge Days 3 & 4

hello all! Sorry these posts are so late, I was away from my stash all last week and just had a chance to do days 3 & 4 of the Girly Girl Challenge!

My attempt at Delicate & Elegant Nails:
This is 2 coats of Revlon's Runway Pearl, with dots in OPI's Manucurist of Seville and Wet n Wild's Under Your Spell.

Then for the runway- inspired mani, I wanted to do color blocking, but a little different, so I used 2 coats of Essie's Going Overboard on the index and pinky finger, 2 coats Wet n Wild Cost is no Issue on the middle, and 2 coats of Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet on the ring :]
I actually really like how this one turned out, it's a lot of fun!!

Make sure you take a look at the other challenger's posts!!

Ring in the Red.. Behind Closed Doors

Hi all! Today I have a layering mani for you that was in my head for a while before I actually felt like wearing it haha. I originally wanted to do this with China Glaze Ruby Pumps, but it was right after I moved back to school and couldn't find my bottle :/ So I grabbed the closest red glitter and I think it worked out well! For this mani, I put 1 coat CG Ring in the Red, 1 coat Wet n Wild Behind Closed Doors, 1 coat RitR, and 1 coat BCD. Sorry about the funky middle finger, I was trying out different topcoats.

I liked this mani a LOT. It wore fairly well, but I like how dark it is while still showing that crazy red glitter so well:]

Believe Me..

when I tell you this polish is FREAKING AMAZING. You need it. Now.

Okay, now that we've established that, hi:] How's is everyone on this [rainy in Jersey] Monday? I hate the rain, it's the pits. But it's alright, what can you do? Anyway, I have for you Wet N Wild ColorIcon: Believe Me, It's Real on today. It's crazy bright small blue glitter with larger purple glitters in there and it's sooo pretty!! I can't even take it, I love this so much. It makes me so happy:] I have on 3 thin coats, but you might be able to get away with 2 thick ones.

This might be one of the most perfect Sarah polishes ever. Yeah, I love it that much.

Oh, also, I got Glitter Tamer last week and used it on  this, so just a quick review: I love it. It really does wonders for this [which used to take me about 7 coats of top coat to get anywhere near smooth]. I did one coat of Glitter Tamer and one of NYC Extra Shiny Top Coat and it was almost perfect. Next time for these, I'd do 2 coats of GT, then top coat.
