Twinsie Tuesday: International Choice

Hey all! So all of my posts now will be scheduled since I'm in Cali for camp for about a month. So for today, Roisin asked us to do a mani based on Ireland. I was super crunched for time, so I decided to show one of my favorite polishes ever: Pahlish Creeping Cabbage. The green jelly base with the orange accents definitely reminds me of Ireland's colors. Though I've never been there, I would LOVE to go some day.

Anyway, CC took just 2 coats and seriously, just look at that. This shade of green plus the round glitters is definitely up my alley.

Rainbow Honey Fab Summer Set

*Polishes in this post were provided for review in exchange for my honest review*

Hey all! I have some wonderful polishes for you today from Rainbow Honey. These three are from the Fab Summer Set, which are sold at fab.com! The set would be three full sized polishes, though the ones I have today to show are minis. Sidenote, how cute are these new RH mini bottles? Love them.

Okay, the formula on all three of these is great. I used 2 coats of the shimmers and then topped them with Costa Del Sol. Both Tenda and Schrammi covered beautifully in 2 coats, and all the polishes were super easy to apply! CDS covered and spread really well, also. All in all, super happy with all of these:] I really love the copper shimmer in Tenda and Schrammi.. so beautiful.

Belated TT- Neon Gradient

Sorry this is late, guys, but my computer totally pooped out on me and it only works in spurts. So here we are! Anyway, this week's challenge was to get marching orders from another Twinsie! So my orders were from Marisa at Polish Obsession and I was instructed to do a neon gradient! I used Orly Pretty-Ugly, China Glaze Too Yacht to Handle, and Wet n Wild Glowstick.

This was my first successful gradient! And I was totally obsessed, I wore it for 4 whole days. Only when it started chipping did I have the heart to take it off. I just love these 3 polishes together so much. Thank you for this challenge Marisa! I honestly never would have done this mani otherwise:]

TT: Fictional Animal Print Mani

First, I want to start off my saying that my prayers are with all those affected yesterday in Boston. I have many dear friends in the city (who are all safe, thank God), and the news was truly heartbreaking.

Second, and this segue sucks, here's some sparkly stuff for you to look at! So I have 2 different manis, since I couldn't decide which one was less awkward. I LOVE the layering I did for the first one, but then nail art... not my thing, as you'll see. Here's my attempt at making a (holographic and sparkly) dragon:

1 coat Nars Zulu, 1 coat LA Girls Teal Dimension, 1 coat Wet N Wild Emerald The Crown Jewel. See what I mean?! THIS, I can get behind!

This.... nope.

So then I tried doing a unicorn "print" with layering. I had some milky pink jelly (totally blanking on the name, sorry!) and I sandwiched Lacquistry's Chick-a-dee doo-da in between coats of that, then topped it with Lynnderella Bride of Franken.

Trust me on this, it looked way better in person. The iridescent glitter just came out yellow in pictures :/

TT: Copycat Manis

Hey ladies! For this week's TT post, I was assigned ChiChi to copy. ChiChi does a lot of beautiful nail art, so I wanted to try my hand at it today. And it wasn't half bad! But then again, I had a great start point with this post. Anyway, ChiChi actually copied this mani from this post. I'm replicating a replica! Haha :] I used Cult Nails Deal with It, Revlon Enthrall, and OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls for this mani.

TT: Marching Orders

Happy TT all! For this weeks TT, we were all assigned a Twinsie to give "marching orders" to, basically making them do whatever we want;) The lovely Anne got to order me around and she wanted me to use 3 polishes-all cremes! So for this one, I wanted to do that Chalkboard Nails type of ruffle mani, but with slightly more tom-boy colors. So I used SH Ion, CG Exotic Encounters, and CG Manhunt. It's nowhere near perfect but I actually really like it. Thank you Anne!!!

Twinsie Tuesday Canadian's Choice

Hi all! Story time ahead, skip to the pictures if you don't feel like reading this haha. I won't be offended. Anyway, I'm currently writing this post at 6 AM after being awake for about 3 & 1/2 hours now. I woke up at night not feeling well and I couldn't go back to sleep. Then about half an hour later, I smell what I thought was gas, REALLY strongly throughout the whole house and I start freaking out. The carbon monoxide monitor wasn't going off or anything, but I was still really worried, so I open the windows and ask my roommate if she smells it too [she didn't at first, so I thought I was crazy lol], then our other roommate comes in and says "Get dressed and leave right now, I think there's a gas leak". Perfect... So we all hightail it out of there just in case our house decides to blow up and wait for the gas man to come. When he gets here, he discovers that there's a back-up in the furnace and oil's been spilling everywhere because our landlord likes pretending he can fix everything [but really just ended up messing it up]. So. Now, we have no heat and it smells like oil. But the good news is that we're safe! Just pissed off haha.

Okay, on to the polish. This week's TT post is Canadian's Choice, which means that we split up into 2 "teams" and I'm on Team Anne! Anne assigned us a theme for this week: Woodlands. Anne says that Canada is known for beautiful woods and forests, especially in the area she lives in, so I decided to do a little tree mani! Rudimentary nail art ahead:

For this, I used Love & Beauty "Crystal/Light Aqua" as the base [these names couldn't be more boring], Orly Buried Alive for the tree trunk, and Cult Nails Deal with It, OPI Live and Let Die, and Love & Beauty Green [see what I mean?] for the leafy tree part. And this was done with my make shift dotting tool: a straightened out bobby pin!

I can't wait to see the other team's challenge and also how everyone on Team Anne interpreted this!

Supernova Springs Layered

Happy Friday! I'm currently trying to put off cleaning my mess of a room.. Every time I start mixing polish, I apparently decide that nothing else matters, so it becomes a huge mess of piles everywhere. I'm the worst... haha. So now Supernatural is on and I'm going through the piles in my room in attempts to live like real people do lol. I'd take a picture to show you, but you'd probably shun me from society.

But at least my nails are pretty? I'm still on this huge indie kick [indie sale to come soon haha], and Hare Polish is definitely one of my favorite lines out there. I have almost all of her polishes and they are insanely stunning. This is one of my favorites of hers and I am SO happy with how this mani turned out. Also, there's a leaf on my fingers because my cuticles are angry right now. Pay it no mind;] I wore Supernova Springs over 2 coats of an unnamed Elf polish:]

Also, I'm trying out this larger picture size... Yay or nay? Have a great weekend everyone! <3 p="p">

Twinsie Tuesday Goes Indie!

Happy Twinsie Tuesday once again! Today's challenge could not be more up my alley hahaha. This week's challenge was to show an indie mani. So I have one of my more recent acquisitions, and one of my all time favorite polishes, Smitten Polish's I Want It Now.

HOW INSANE IS THIS?! This is definitely in the running for my favorite polish ever. It's emerald green, glittery, holo-y, opaque in 2 coats, jelly, and just absolutely stunning. I have no words for how in love with this I am. It's perfect. Just.. perfect. This definitely beat China Glaze Emerald Sparkled in the Favorite Green EVER category. It's the holo and black glitters that do it. Excuse me while I cradle my bottle of IWIN [also, great acronym!] and drool some more.

Starlight & Sparkles Review [Part 2]

More pretties from Starlight and Sparkles for you today!

Farore [over Revlon Dreamer]

According to the listing, Farore "shifts through teal, green, light green, and gold". I definitely see the green and gold over this base, and it looks so soft to me:]

Silver Moon Crystal [over Sally Hansen Green Tea]

This is like the silvery-white version of Essie As Gold As It Gets to me. I love this kind of chunky flaky shimmer! Plus, this just looks like green tea ice cream:]

Nayru [over Cult Nails Time Traveler]

Favorite!! This is what I wore all last weekend, it's so. stinking. pretty. It looks like twinkling galaxies on your nails. It's one of my favorite layering combinations, definitely. The listing says that Nayru "shifts through turquoise, blue, and violet" and I definitely saw all of those color shifts IRL. Ugh! stunning.

Again, you can purchase these polishes [and many more stunners!] here at Starlight and Sparkles. I absolutely recommend these polishes! Go take a look now!

2 Nostalgics and a Contest!

Hello all! How was everyone's weekend?? The boy was here for a visit, it was really nice:] And my housemate's 21st birthday, so that was interesting.. Haha. But overall, a great weekend, and we're heading out soon to watch the Pats-Ravens game soon! I don't really have a team I really root for, but I figure it'll be fun to watch. Also, it's been stunning out all day and I am LOVING this fall weather. I'm in a rambling mood today, so I'll cut to the polishes now lol

I have 2 Nostalgic polishes for you today. The first is Bitchcraft. This mani is 2 coats Zoya Shawn and 2 coats Bitchcraft.

So while the end result of this wasn't bad, I HATED putting this polish on. I flipped the bottle, shook it, fished around, swirled the brush, shook some more and application was still a pain. It took way too much work to get a sparse amount of glitter on the nail. I like the color combination, but I won't be using this polish again, way too much of a hassle :/

Luckily, The Brain made up for it. Shown here at 3 coats.

Doesn't this remind you of Spongebob?! I like this one a lot, the blue glitters look so cute in the yellow base. And while it may not be seasonally appropriate, it's so happy looking! And also, the Spongebob thing. Seriously, how can that not make you smile? Thankfully, the formula was a lot better on this one, no fishing for glitters. And while it's a little sheer, it's definitely buildable.

And finally, I have a flash contest for you! I have a big review post going up tomorrow that I'm so excited about, these polishes really spoke to me. So, the first person to guess the name and brand of this polish gets their polish of choice from this brand [purchased by me] and 2 polishes from my store :] So take your guesses in the comment section! The contest will end tomorrow [9/24] at noon EST :]

Falling for Fall Polishes

So.. I think I went a little overboard on these;] The lovely Ash from Art Evolve got together a little group of girls to show their favorite summer to fall transition polishes. And basically what happened last night is that I started swatching and I just couldn't stop! So you get a ton of pictures today..

KBShimmer No Whine Left: I love the vampy base with the sparkly blue glitters, it really combines summer and fall for me.

Orly Emberstone: This orange is amazing! And the touch of coral makes it perfect for this time of year. Also, look at that shimmer!!

Zoya Toni: So Oxblood is the big color this season and this is a little bit of oxblood, a little bit of purple. It's one of my new favorites, I love it so hard.

NOPI For Gold Time's Sake: The 3 shimmering polishes in this collection are so so pretty. The color shifting shimmer is just ridiculous! And I love the olive-y base color too.

OPI Ski Teal We Drop: This was the polish that got me in to nail polish & blogs!! Clearly it's in a special place in my heart. Also, it's just flat out pretty.

China Glaze Exotic Encounters: I think this color is so great for transitioning from summer to fall. It's bright, but a little dutsy, and on the greener side of teal.

BB Couture Busty Bombshell: Olive green shimmer with that signature BB Couture micro glitter? Yes PLEASE. Love.

Alta Costura Vernis Tigress: This is a fun and happy orange, but the mix of black glitters in there also really works for Halloween!

Essie Cocktail Bling: I really like this polish, it makes me feel so calm and cozy :] Great for the incoming chill in the air!

Orly Smolder: I'm already predicting that this will be my most worn fall polish this year. I couldn't stop staring at it when I swatched it!! It literally GLOWS. I'm almost positive I'll be wearing this during Thanksgiving. And probably every other week. Gah!!!

Nostalgic Lacquer Date at Midnight with Nosferatu: The name is kind of dumb and long, but the polish is really great. I love the shade of those magenta glitters in there,  and combined with the grey jelly base, it's like a sneaky glam.

Joe Fresh Moss with Dollish Polish Urban Camo: YESYESYES. I can't even begin to tell you how much I LOOOOVE Urban Camo and I think Moss is the perfect underwear polish. Just.. Neon green, gold, white, & black glitter perfection. I can't even. I need to wear this again now. I was actually upset I had to take this off.

KBShimmer Witch Way?: This is like a purple holo version of Essie SSN. So it's better in my book. It just looks like space to me, if space were purple. [Sidenote, I read somewhere that space tastes like raspberries. I seriously want to taste space so bad right now.]

Lacquistry Leaf Piles Make Me Smile: If Smolder is gonna be my Thanksgiving mani, this would definitely be a close second. Such a pretty shimmery base, and the whole feel of this is really autumnal.

Pahlish Ace of Fours: This took a little more loving to get on the nail [about 3 heavier coats], but I think it's worth it. There's a shimmer in there that, added to those teeny shard glitters, make this whole polish twinkle, like snow.

Essie Bobbing for Baubles: Dark blue-grey perfection. I always feel stylish when I'm wearing this.

China Glaze It's Alive: This is the most perfect Halloween polish basically ever. I love how this looks on me, but also, it's so well executed. Amazing formula and so. packed. with glitter.

Cult Nails Spontaneous: A greyed-purple with seriously gorgeous purple tiny glitters. The addition of glitter definitely makes it unique, and the shade really says fall to me.

So there you have it! My top 18 picks for fall. I can't wait to wear the crap out of these polishes, they make me so ridiculously happy. But seriously, go right now and get Smolder and Urban Camo and It's Alive and Emberstone. You'll be a happier polish-er;] Which of these was your favorite??
