Starlight & Sparkles Review [Part 2]

More pretties from Starlight and Sparkles for you today!

Farore [over Revlon Dreamer]

According to the listing, Farore "shifts through teal, green, light green, and gold". I definitely see the green and gold over this base, and it looks so soft to me:]

Silver Moon Crystal [over Sally Hansen Green Tea]

This is like the silvery-white version of Essie As Gold As It Gets to me. I love this kind of chunky flaky shimmer! Plus, this just looks like green tea ice cream:]

Nayru [over Cult Nails Time Traveler]

Favorite!! This is what I wore all last weekend, it's so. stinking. pretty. It looks like twinkling galaxies on your nails. It's one of my favorite layering combinations, definitely. The listing says that Nayru "shifts through turquoise, blue, and violet" and I definitely saw all of those color shifts IRL. Ugh! stunning.

Again, you can purchase these polishes [and many more stunners!] here at Starlight and Sparkles. I absolutely recommend these polishes! Go take a look now!

Nail Clouds!

So I was inspired by this week's color blocking TT post! I decided to do some more nail art [I know. Weird!] -ish stuff and did a nail cloud mani! This was actually really easy, and I really love the whole effect. Like a funky french, but more... bubbly looking. AND I get to use 3 colors at once! Always a plus. I did this one with Revlon Provence, then Barry M Raspberry, then Sinful Colors Rainstorm for the last clouds:]

Provence on its own. For some reason, I wasn't a big fan of this polish on me. I gave it away, I think I'm gonna stick with Essie Lilacism for now..

Sorry about the wear, this was after 2 days! I must have really liked this mani haha

Twinsie Tuesday: Half Moon with Pastel & Neon

This week seriously flew by so fast for me, I can't believe it's Tuesday already! Anyway, the Twinsies were supposed to do a half moon mani using pastel and neon polishes. Now considering I don't really have neon polishes and I also don't have circley stickers, I think this came out well! I cut out the half moon shape using mailing labels and used this neon glitter I have in the works:]

Not the world's prettiest mani, but I like it enough:] The base I have going on underneath this is a jelly sandwich of OPI Care to Danse? and The Hungry Asian's Mumbling.

This is seriously so much better IRL. There's these teeny holographic glitters that look so pretty in the jelly sandwich. and the silver glitters look white, which I also love a lot.

I can't wait to see all the manis my Twinsies came up with!

I'm Back!

Hi, sorry about that absence, I've had a rough week and then got sick on top of everything, but I'm back now with my favorite polish of the moment.

So you all know I have a love affair with glitter, just take a look at my recent posts haha. But recently, I've been craving really good cremes. My manis over the past 2 weeks-ish have been Essie Orange, It's Obvious!, China Glaze Poinsettia, Finger Paints Lemon Sour, RBL's IKB:2012, and now Essie's Who is the Boss ! I'm actually in love with this color, it looks so good on the nail. I looked for this collection for a while but I couldn't find it until I got right to the register at Harmon's. I was in a bit of a hurry, so I didn't have time to really look at all the colors from the display [and the Essie Poppy Razzi display too!!] so I just grabbed WitB and decided I'd have to come back later to look. I want a lot of the new Essies, but till then I'll have to admire from afar haha. Anyway, I'm so glad I picked this one up, the formula was great for me and it's opaque in 2 coats, great for a lighter color like this. Yep, I'm in love.

Then there's the not so in love with part. I put on Rockstar Nails' With Love, and to be honest, I was a little disappointed. I love the hearts, but there's something weird going on with that black hex glitter [see index finger] and I really really had to fish for a large white heart. It looks like the black hexes like... deteriorated or something? I don't even know, but they turned translucent in some paces and looked strange. not my cup of tea, unfortunately:/ But you win some, you lose some, right?

What's everyone's favorite polish of the moment? I'm loving WitB and Orange, It's Obvious from Essie and I'm thinking that some of their other polishes might make my top 10 summer list haha

Light as Air + Princess Cut

Hi all! I got some epic nail mail today, so I'll have to swatch those really soon:] But for now, I have a combination I did when I first nubbinized my nails [it was a sad day]. I have shorter nails naturally, but I got some AWFUL peeling a little while ago, and finally broke the nail on my thumb and just decided to go to town with my file hahaha. My nails are definitely longer now, and [knock on wood] no signs of peeling! Yay! I will admit to really being hard on my nails though. So I'm trying to remedy that a little.

Anyway, let's talk polish. My favorite pastels are light purple and mint green, I wear them so often in the spring and I ALWAYS have these on my toes in the summer. China Glaze Light as Air is a favorite of mine, I love it a lot. I have on 2 coats here with 1 coat of Sally Hansen Princess Cut

Pastel for Easter

Happy Easter to all who are celebrating it today [my Easter is next week, I'm Orthodox Christian and we have a different calender haha]! Whatever you're celebrating today, whether it be Easter, Passover, or a beautiful Sunday, here's a nice pastel from Sally Hansen!

Okay, so I really really didn't think that I'd want these Smooth and Perfect Sally Hansens when I saw pictures of them popping up online, but I really really like them! They look good on my nails, the formula [while a little more sheer than I'd like] is actually really smooth, and the polishes have this unexpected pearliness that I really love. Here's 3 thin coats of Whisper, which is a little more purple than it shows up here:

Unexpected win!! Love those. I've worn Sea, Air, and Fog from this line before and those have been great, too. It's a really pretty, calming color and perfect for spring:D I'll probably be rocking it on my toes sometime soon, too.
