Falling for Fall Polishes

So.. I think I went a little overboard on these;] The lovely Ash from Art Evolve got together a little group of girls to show their favorite summer to fall transition polishes. And basically what happened last night is that I started swatching and I just couldn't stop! So you get a ton of pictures today..

KBShimmer No Whine Left: I love the vampy base with the sparkly blue glitters, it really combines summer and fall for me.

Orly Emberstone: This orange is amazing! And the touch of coral makes it perfect for this time of year. Also, look at that shimmer!!

Zoya Toni: So Oxblood is the big color this season and this is a little bit of oxblood, a little bit of purple. It's one of my new favorites, I love it so hard.

NOPI For Gold Time's Sake: The 3 shimmering polishes in this collection are so so pretty. The color shifting shimmer is just ridiculous! And I love the olive-y base color too.

OPI Ski Teal We Drop: This was the polish that got me in to nail polish & blogs!! Clearly it's in a special place in my heart. Also, it's just flat out pretty.

China Glaze Exotic Encounters: I think this color is so great for transitioning from summer to fall. It's bright, but a little dutsy, and on the greener side of teal.

BB Couture Busty Bombshell: Olive green shimmer with that signature BB Couture micro glitter? Yes PLEASE. Love.

Alta Costura Vernis Tigress: This is a fun and happy orange, but the mix of black glitters in there also really works for Halloween!

Essie Cocktail Bling: I really like this polish, it makes me feel so calm and cozy :] Great for the incoming chill in the air!

Orly Smolder: I'm already predicting that this will be my most worn fall polish this year. I couldn't stop staring at it when I swatched it!! It literally GLOWS. I'm almost positive I'll be wearing this during Thanksgiving. And probably every other week. Gah!!!

Nostalgic Lacquer Date at Midnight with Nosferatu: The name is kind of dumb and long, but the polish is really great. I love the shade of those magenta glitters in there,  and combined with the grey jelly base, it's like a sneaky glam.

Joe Fresh Moss with Dollish Polish Urban Camo: YESYESYES. I can't even begin to tell you how much I LOOOOVE Urban Camo and I think Moss is the perfect underwear polish. Just.. Neon green, gold, white, & black glitter perfection. I can't even. I need to wear this again now. I was actually upset I had to take this off.

KBShimmer Witch Way?: This is like a purple holo version of Essie SSN. So it's better in my book. It just looks like space to me, if space were purple. [Sidenote, I read somewhere that space tastes like raspberries. I seriously want to taste space so bad right now.]

Lacquistry Leaf Piles Make Me Smile: If Smolder is gonna be my Thanksgiving mani, this would definitely be a close second. Such a pretty shimmery base, and the whole feel of this is really autumnal.

Pahlish Ace of Fours: This took a little more loving to get on the nail [about 3 heavier coats], but I think it's worth it. There's a shimmer in there that, added to those teeny shard glitters, make this whole polish twinkle, like snow.

Essie Bobbing for Baubles: Dark blue-grey perfection. I always feel stylish when I'm wearing this.

China Glaze It's Alive: This is the most perfect Halloween polish basically ever. I love how this looks on me, but also, it's so well executed. Amazing formula and so. packed. with glitter.

Cult Nails Spontaneous: A greyed-purple with seriously gorgeous purple tiny glitters. The addition of glitter definitely makes it unique, and the shade really says fall to me.

So there you have it! My top 18 picks for fall. I can't wait to wear the crap out of these polishes, they make me so ridiculously happy. But seriously, go right now and get Smolder and Urban Camo and It's Alive and Emberstone. You'll be a happier polish-er;] Which of these was your favorite??

The Color of the Year

Ever since Pantone , announced their Color of the Year, Tangerine Tango, I've been hoarding orange things. Polishes, shoes, blazers.. I'm in love with it. Also, I'm basically the dream consumer, advertising really gets to me, so it's no wonder I'm loving orange haha. I have 2 oranges to show you today, a mainstream polish and an indie:] First up to bat is Essie's Orange, It's Obvious!

So first of all: I hate the name. However, this polish is really really gorgeous, so I'm willing to overlook the awkwardly long and dumb name;] The formula was amazing, almost a one coater but I put 2 coats on to smooth everything out. And it was really self leveling, too. Plus, the color looks great on my skin [not to toot my own horn or anything], AND I wore it for over 3 days. For a creme to hold my attention so long is a feat! Plus, I got no chipping and barely any tipwear!

Now, Alta Costura Vernis' Drama:

I believe this was 2 coats, but I've worn it out with 3 when I just wanted more glitter! Haha. The hearts in this are my absolute favorite part, I love it. And the orange jelly base is squishy and perfect and shiny. I had to search a little for the hearts, but nothing too bad. Plus, the maker of these is such a sweetie. And I have a LOT of ACV polishes, and I really love them all. You'll be seeing them a lot, hopefully in the next month:]

Alta Costura Vernis: Abstraction

Mondayyyy, boooo. The weather's weird today, too, so that's not helping the Monday blues haha. Ah well...

Today, I have another Alta Costura Vernis polish to show you:] This was the first one she had out, I believe. And it was the first one I snatched up!! :] Abstraction is [as described in the Etsy listing]: "a clear base with fine silver glitter, neon colored glitter, all different shapes and sizes of black glitter, and silver bar glitter". I've tried it over 2 different bases, though I'm still not sure which I like more.

Over Essence Dawn is Broken

Over Rescue Beauty Lounge IKB:2012

The formula was good on this, though you had to fish a little for the neon hex glitters. Definitely worth it, I haven't seen a polish like this. You can find ACV polishes here, though her shop's on vacation for a little while:]

Sweet Tooth... Be Prepared to Drool.

Hi! As you read this, I'll be taking an Arabic final, so I can almost guarantee you're having more fun than I am ;]  Today I have for you a polish from an AMAZING indie polish seller, Alta Costura Vernis. Look at her sold orders and just TRY not to drool all over your computers haha. Fun fact: I was the very first customer! :D Though this wasn't the one I bought the first time around. Anyway, this is pink, blue, purple, and white matte glitter in a clear base. I put on 3 coats for full coverage [and what you see here], but I can't wait to put it over a pink or blue and possibly rock that as a pedicure! Can you tell how much I love this polish? I can't wait to try the other one that's similar to this, but that's another post for another day... Here's 3 coats of Sweet Tooth:

Do you love it?! I definitely do! It's very Floam-esque in its glitter style. Really amazing combination of colors, too. One downside: I could still see my nail line sometimes and got some shrinking at the tip. So I'll probably just put a coat of ridge filler on next time before the polish.
