Zoya Liberty, or How to Get Horrific Stains Off Your Nails

This polish.... Oh man. So stunning, but SO STAINY. I can't even handle it. I mean, I completely love this polish and would probably wear it again, but..... not for a long time. Okay, so gaze upon the gorgeousness.

I mean. Stunning, right? And I wore the crap out of it for 3 days. But then (FULL STAIN AHEAD, BEWARE):

DUNDUNDUNNN. This is gross. Like,  what even. It would have stained my skin also, but I coated the skin around my nails with cuticle oil.

So then I put whitening toothpaste on my nails for just over 5 minutes anddddddddd

Still not great, but, buffer to the rescue!

Begone, demon stains!

Anyone have an easier way to get stains off your nails? Or any other polishes that are this... stainy?

Some LynBDesigns Polishes!

*Polishes in post were provided for my honest review*

Hey all! I have some really fun polishes from LynBDesigns from her Twitterpatted collection. Just a note on formula: all of these polishes had a smooth formula with no difficulty of getting nice sparkle on the nail. All were sheer, and so I have some layering options for you below:] 4 coats on index finger for all of these pictures, then one coat over differing base colors for my middle to pinky nails.

Dharma: Alone, over OPI You Only Live Twice, Orly Wild Wisteria, and CG Snap My Dragon.
This was a super fun color! I've been really into pinks lately and this has some gorgeous blue shimmer running through it. I loved it over the OPI, it took the polish to the next level.

Verna: Alone, over Revlon Royal, SH Breezy Blue, Zoya Natty
Okay, I think Verna over Royal is amazing, but I also loved it over the light blue! Very pretty!! Like

Harriet: alone, over BL The Old Bill, OPI My Vampire is Buff, Cult Nails Bitten.
Favorite look: alone! It's such a complex shimmer this has going on, and I really liked it with my skin tone. A huge huge fan of this one!

Millie: alone, over Essie Where's my Chauffeur?, Revlon  Velvet Rope, CG Manhunt

Stella: alone, over Essie Where's my Chauffeur?, Revlon  Velvet Rope, CG Manhunt

Okay, these two clearly can't be worn alone, but I LOVE THEM. These are my favorites of the collection! They're just both really delicate and sparkly without being overbearing and just..ahh. Yes. They're both so pretty over WMC? !!

PS Please check out my blog sale here ! Some ass broke off my passenger mirror on my car and I'm selling my excess polishes to pay for it. Thank you!!!

Belated Super Bowl Nails

Hello! I hope everyone's feeling well this week, I'm sick (again). Third time this season.. Blah. So I have lots of time to do my nails, since I'm just laying in bed in between classes. So that's nice! I have my Super Bowl mani to show you today. The boy is a Ravens fan and I'm pretty indifferent (I use the Super Bowl to try out new recipes on my friends). I did really love the colors of the Ravens, so I did a mani using Zoya Yasmeen, Crowstoes Maxxxed Out and the Sephora 18ct gold topcoat. Side note: I can't believe I waited this long to use Yasmeen. It's stunning!!! I'm angry at myself for putting it to the side for so long.

My New Favorite Purple

I'd like to start this post with saying how much I love Zoya. Seriously. I'm in love with all the promos happening. I just got the Gilty topcoat (plus some Christmas gifts for my mom!). And I'm fangirling out over Mimi. It took me SO. LONG. to get this (dumb on my part). But now I have my mitts on it & I'm in love. I don't know if my pictures really show the amazing chunky shimmer off, but it's stunning in person. Though you all probs know that already, since I've been living under a rock. Anyway. Mimi in 2 coats of purple glory: also, I've been obsessed with making paper snowflakes, so you get a bonus of that!

Twinsie Tuesday: 3D [Glasses] Mani!

Happy Tuesday, ladies! I'm swamped with essays right now, so you'll have to deal with short posts for a few days. But I have plenty of pictures, so we're good on that end [for once haha]. Anyway, this week's TT challenge was to do a 3D mani. But I: A)suck at nail art-like stuff; B)don't like things sticking off of my nails [seriously, I topcoat the crap out of my glitter manis]; and C)had negative amounts of time this week, so therefore, short of sticking random crap all over my nails [pony beads crossed my mind.... no lie], I was forced to cheat. Sorry Twinsies! I know they all have some kick-ass manis to show you today, but mine is considerably less so. Though hopefully a little funny? I don't know, I'm in a weird place with this essay, so everything's funny to me right now.

[So much for a short post]. Here's my 3D glasses mani to help you see all the other wonderful manis from the Twinsies!

& for reference:

I used Revlon Aloof, Revlon Royal, Zoya Sooki, and Wet n Wild Black Creme for this mani. Not the neatest in the world, but hey. I'm hopped up on caffeine and attempting to pound out a paper, so I think I get some leeway haha.

So, grab your 3d glasses and go take a look at my Twinsie's 3D manis!

Two Triple Layering Experiments

Happy Twinsie Tuesday! Today, we were supposed to use 3 different polishes and layer them to achieve our manis. So I did a couple that I was trying to be unexpected with, but I'm not a 100% happy with any of them. Ah well! Here's some of my attempts haha. Oh and you're only getting 3 fingers, my pinky nail is sad and broken :[

Attempt #1
Sally Hansen Ion [which is gorgeous and what I wore all weekend]

+ Lynnderella Night Shade

+Milani Rad Purple [not thrilled with my application here, but the concept was fun!]

Attempt #2
Zoya Wednesday

+ Literary Lacquers A Midsummer Night's Dream

+ Darling Diva Polish Regulus [it made this weird murky purple...]

I hope my Twinsies had better luck with this than I did! :]

Wednesday on Wednesday:]

Hey all! I've been mixing up a storm here for the Etsy shop, I hope to open up again soon:] I can't wait to show you all what I've been up to! Here's a prototype for my next collection, hopefully available in 2 opening's time:]

What do you think?! I need to find an alternative for the tiny glitters, but the general concept will be the same :]

And now for a real mani, I wore Zoya Wednesday with my Just Keep Swimming on top. I rarely wear my own polishes, since I usually keep only a mini bottle for reference and I don't want to use it up, but when I was mixing up JKS, I saw Wednesday in my need-to-wear pile and thought they'd go well together! And though it's not incredibly fall-y, it's bright and happy and I'm a fan! 2 coats Wednesday and 1 JKS. Sorry about my weird pointer finger nail, it chipped on the side and I can't bring myself to file it ALL the way down. So the shape there is a little.. wonky.

What do you think of this combination?? I wish I'd thought of this in the summer lol.

Starlight and Sparkles Review [Part 1]

Hello all! I have half of the lovely polishes I got to review from Starlight and Sparkles. I've ordered from this shop before, and I'm a big fan of all the duochrome shimmers and glitters! I'm going away for the weekend and I definitely plan on wearing Unicorn Tears ! I wore Dragon Scales in August for a long weekend away, and it held up so so well. I didn't have any chipping and really minimal tip wear. I usually can't comment on how long a polish wears [I change my polish too much! haha], but I can definitely recommend these.

Din [over Essie Mesmerize]

Din is a duochrome glitter topcoat that "shifts through red, orange, gold, and green". It's also probably my favorite combination of these :] It really warmed up the blue base. I saw more orange and gold more than any other color and then some green was second runner up. Din is a subtle way to get some soft sparkle on your nail. Over black, it's definitely more of a dramatic effect, but I really wanted to see what these could do!

Splash Dream [over Essie Clutch Me if You Can]

Splash Dream is a really gorgeous chunky shimmer, "pink to gold, flashing violet at the extreme of the color range". I saw a lot of the pink-purple flashes and then when I tilted my hand around, I got some of that pretty gold to warm up the polish.

Ever Blue [over Zoya Song]

This has similar shimmer to Splash Dream, that duochrome-y, chunky shimmer. Ahh, so pretty. This is described as "blue to violet, flashing pink at the extreme of the color range". I mostly saw blue, then some purple, but I didn't get any pink over this base.

These were all smooth, formula wise. Super easy to use :] And you get a TON of shimmer and glitter onto the nail in one coat. Go to Starlight and Sparkles to take a look at all the GORGEOUS polishes she has!

TT: Cars

Happy Twinsie Tuesday! Our posts today are supposed to be nails that are the same color as your car, which posed a problem for me, considering I don't have a car. So instead, I did nails inspired by the most famous car I can think of:

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I AM just that cool. I had some really disastrous nail art fails before I decided to go with a ruffian. I used Zoya Sooki and Revlon Zealous for this look.

One day, I will master the lightning bolt on my nails. Till then, ruffian manis! ;]

Secret Copycat TT:]

Heehee, I love this Twinsie Tuesday theme. We did a secret copy cat mani from a random draw, I got Jenn from All That is Gorgeous! I wanted to recreate a recent mani she just did had, from Starry Earth: Lion of Valor :] I loved this mani on Jenn a lot, so I got out 2 of my polishes and tried to do my best to do it justice!

How do you like my take on Jenn's gorgeous mani?? I'd kill for her nail beds, seriously. How perfect are they? Gah. nail bed envy. Is that a thing? It is now. Anyway, this is 2 coats of Zoya Sooki [which was a definite surprise love for me] and Lynnderella Golden Rules. Other than the stars, I think my take on Jenn's mani has the same feel!

P.S. Happy birthday, Tara!! <3 lady="lady" love="love" p="p" you="you">

Feenix Swatches and Review

Hello lovelies! I have some great polishes to show you today from Feenix Polish :]

First up is Country Roads. My feelings on this one have been like a roller coaster. Loved it in the listing pictures, wasn't impressed with it in the bottle IRL, then really liked it again when it was on the nail. I was a little disappointed the the multi-chrome shown in the picture wasn't apparent in person, but I really love the polish for what it is. I'll stop blabbering for a second.

3 coats

With flash.

LtoR: 3 coats Country Roads, 1 coat CR over Finger Paints Sketchy Character, 1 coat CR over Zoya Penny

My favorite way to wear this is definitely on its own, it looks so cozy and plush to me. I'm definitely wearing this around Thanksgiving time, I can't wait. There's definitely a duochrome aspect to this polish, and it's really unique. The shimmer is really stunning in this.

2 coats

This one is right up my alley. Vibrant blue jelly, with tons of glitter. Swoon! I really adore shades like this, I can't get enough. It's like a mini galaxy:] Or a pumped up version of Essie SSN. This was at 2 coats, and the more sheer spots in these pictures don't exist at all in person.

Formula on both of these was good, flowed well. I got a ton of glitter payoff in DwtBDO, and CR was good in terms of opacity. I think you might be able to get away with 2 thicker coats there.

So there you have 2 stunners from Feenix Polish! be sure to check out that Etsy store, she really has some stunners in there. I'm lusting after Cammie, Falling for You, Halloween Party, Clots of Love, Shake Your Tailfeathers, Feenix Rising, and Embers !
