So I want to end 2011 with a bang, and what better way to do that than with HOLOS??? Yeah, no better way, that's what. This I call Water is Wide, after the song. It's a very blue holo, though it came out more scattered in these pictures [no sun had me using flash... meh]. Anyway, here it is at 2 coats:

There you have it!! my last post of 2011. Thank you all so much for sticking with me, and I hope to see you next year for some amazing things!! :] <3

Robin Sparkles!

YES. A HIMYM reference. I love that show so much. When I made this franken, I could NOT think of a name for it. Then this popped into my head:

Perfect. I love Robin Sparkles so much...Anyway, here 2 coats of my franken [which will be in the etsy shop], a deep fuchsia with red, purple, and blue glitter:

Thoughts?? And anyone else watch How I Met Your Mother & have "Let's Go to the Mall" stuck in their heads right now? :p

Deep Space: a franken

Hello, all!! This week, I'll be showing some frankens that will most probably be on mine and my sister's Etsy shop [coming soon!]. So today I have for you Deep Space [side note: all names are subject to change]. This was my attempt at creating the missing Tony Moly polish from their glittery planet line. This is basically the inverse of the Jupiter one [which is deep purple with large blue holo glitter and small purple glitter]. Deep Space is a deep blue with large purple holo glitter and small blue glitter. And this will be in the shop at some point:] Here it is at 2 coats:

It's more sparkly and a little more vibrant IRL. So what do you think??? Constructive criticism?

Christmas Mani & heads up!

Hello, lovely readers!! How was everyone's holidays?? Hope they went well:] I had these little chevron tips for Christmas; I'd been frankening till really late and when I realized what time it was, I had such little time to do anything fancy. So these were easy and festive and totally not perfect, but that's okay! Because I liked them and I even got a few compliments:]

2 coats of Zoya Luna; tips in LA Splash Oceans Fairy & Sally Hansen Red Carpet.

Okay, now.. I have a few little announcements :]
1. My sister and I will be opening up our Etsy shop soon after the new year, so keep an eye out for that! There will be scarves, jewelry, anddddddddd my frankens!!  So I'm really excited about that.
2. I'll be having a little giveaway soon, smaller than my first one. I'm thinking about doing a Name My Frankens contest, I think that would be fun. And the names I like the most can win the polishes!
3. A quick happy birthday to my boyfrannnnn. <3
4. I'll be away till the New Year starting tomorrow, so I'll have scheduled posts up!!
5. Here's one of the frankens that will be in the Etsy shop. I call it Hazards of Love [after the Decemberists' album of the same name!]:

Christmas Eve nails

It's a two for one post today!! Yay! Plus some nail art... Yeah, who knew?? Haha, all the AMAZING holiday manis I've seen other ladies post recently inspired me to mix up my manis a little. So for Christmas Eve, I have on Santa hats!

Aren't they cute?? They make me happy, even though they're sooo far from perfect. I used a coat of NOPI Make a Commet-ment, then dotted the hats on with NOPI Orna-ment for Each Other and Sally Hansen Whirlwind White. I also had on Lynnderella's Happy Holo-daze! a few days ago:

Two coats over Wet n Wild Black Creme

Blurred a bit for that holo glitter

Everything everyone's saying about this is true: it's a bajillion times more amazing version of Party Hearty. lovelovelove it.

What are you all wearing for the holidays??

Christmas Skittles!

Hello all!! I'm sorry if I'm not too wordy today, I have 2 finals tomorrow and then a final and term paper on Thursday. So not too much fun :/ But then it's break! Yay! I'm very excited. I need to not do anything haha. Anyway, I had on 2 coats of Emerald Sparkle, aka one of my absolute top polishes. It's so freaking PRETTY. Plus, green and glitter, so I'm sold.

Drooooooooooooool.

Then I got pretty excited and decided to do some nail art. Which doesn't usually happen with me, I've been very layering, frankening lately. But when I first started getting into nail polish, I would stamp EVERY manicure I had on. Nothing was safe from my MASH plates. So I whipped those out again and got this:

Stripes: Nfu Oh 61
Mistletoe: Sally Hansen Whirlwind White, then stamped over it with Nfu Oh 61, then dotted on the berries with China Glaze Ring in the Red
Santa Hat: dotted a triangle of the SH white, then dotted on China Glaze Poinsettia, then CG Ring in the Red, then made the little ball at the top and the lining by dotting on the SH white.

It wasn't really hard, though I think I like the Santa hats most:] I'll probably do this exact mani for Christmas day haha. Plus, it was a hit with my housemates!

Stocking Stuffer

Only a few more Christmas frankens left! & a very few Christmas manis, because I cannot do nail art.. Really, it's bad haha. This one is called Stocking Stuffer, it's a deeper red with red and light gold normal glitter and a little bigger hex glitter. I generally don't do reds (with a few exceptions) but red + glitter is good in my book! I have 2 coats of SS in these pictures, I believe.

Sorry for the awkward hand placement, btw, I could not get a good grip on this bottle for some reason!

Anyway, how's everyone's holiday season going?? What colors are you rocking on your nails recently?

Extreme Layering: Home Edition

Hello, everyone! It's Sunday! Which means my finals are soon:/ Meh.

Well, while I wasn't studying last night, I was looking [read: drooling] over the Finger Paints flakies and decided to do a layering mani [again haha]. I did 2 coats of Icing Vampire's Blood, sent to me from the amaaaaaazing Amanda from Amandalandish followed by 1 coat of China Glaze Ring in the Red, then 1 coat Sinful Colors Green Ocean, and finally 1 coat LA Girls Glitter Addict Eutopia. Yes, this was craziness. No, I am naaaaht looking forward to taking this off.

CRAZY GLITTER OVERLOAD.

Twas the Night Before Christmas & All Through the House...

Hello everybody! It's almost Christmas!!! You know what that means... more Christmas frankens! Woooooooo! This I called Night Before Christmas, a deep reddish brown jelly with red and green glitter.

This is the franken I had on under Lynnderella's Very Pretty Vampire. But I like it better on its own, you can see the green and red wayyyyy better:] How do you like this franken? It's not my typical color, but I think I like it!

OPF: Reptilian

Hello, everybody! In my latest installment of Other People's Frankens, I bring you Reptilian from Linsday of Yacking About Lacquer. I've gotten a couple of polishes from her, but this is by far my favorite. Take a look at why:

This is 2 perfect coats

Glitter in Their Veins Badge!

The wonderful Amanda from Amandalandish created this Glitter in Their Veins badge for us crazy glitter obsessed polish lovers. She's put it in this post, explaining the rules and everything. I think she's so incredibly sweet for making this and for awarding it to me!<3 I think it's pretty evident that I LOVE glitter haha, so I definitely have glitter in my veins [& my hair & on my pants & in the cracks in the floor... thanks, frankening]. So while the rules say I have to post my favorite glitter, I can't pick just one!! But I do have a glitter + flakie layering combo again that I'm currently wearing and I LOVE it, so I decided to show that!
Rules:
-Acknowledge the award/badge
-Post your favorite glitter
-Nominate 4 more "Glitterati" [in Amanda's words!;) ]

This is 2 coats of LA Splash Midnight Rain with 2 coats of Ludurana Trovao [there's also a coat of Ludurana Chuva in there, but it was pretty irrelevant]

Trying reallyyyyyyyy hard to show the depth of it haha

Manis like this wear foreverrrrr on me, too. Which is perfect, since I never want to take it off ;]
Love how dark is this, but still glittery! Plus, the contrast between the red & blue is amazing. & I really like the charcoal base in it.

glitter + flakies = Sarah's jaw on the floor for the next 4 days.

Ahh! Do you love it?? I can't stop staring. I think it's official: glitter with flakies on top are my all time favorite kind of mani. I can't stop wearing them! So here are my four amazing nominees:
  1. Jenn from All That is Gorgeous
  2. Anne from Grape Fizz Nails
  3. Raych from Polished Criminails
  4. And the literally amazing Haul of Fame
