Feenix Swatches and Review

Hello lovelies! I have some great polishes to show you today from Feenix Polish :]

First up is Country Roads. My feelings on this one have been like a roller coaster. Loved it in the listing pictures, wasn't impressed with it in the bottle IRL, then really liked it again when it was on the nail. I was a little disappointed the the multi-chrome shown in the picture wasn't apparent in person, but I really love the polish for what it is. I'll stop blabbering for a second.

3 coats

With flash.

LtoR: 3 coats Country Roads, 1 coat CR over Finger Paints Sketchy Character, 1 coat CR over Zoya Penny

My favorite way to wear this is definitely on its own, it looks so cozy and plush to me. I'm definitely wearing this around Thanksgiving time, I can't wait. There's definitely a duochrome aspect to this polish, and it's really unique. The shimmer is really stunning in this.

2 coats

This one is right up my alley. Vibrant blue jelly, with tons of glitter. Swoon! I really adore shades like this, I can't get enough. It's like a mini galaxy:] Or a pumped up version of Essie SSN. This was at 2 coats, and the more sheer spots in these pictures don't exist at all in person.

Formula on both of these was good, flowed well. I got a ton of glitter payoff in DwtBDO, and CR was good in terms of opacity. I think you might be able to get away with 2 thicker coats there.

So there you have 2 stunners from Feenix Polish! be sure to check out that Etsy store, she really has some stunners in there. I'm lusting after Cammie, Falling for You, Halloween Party, Clots of Love, Shake Your Tailfeathers, Feenix Rising, and Embers !

Twinsie Tuesday: Color Blocking!

I'd like to preface this post by saying that I liked this mani WAY more before I looked at the pictures on my computer... Yeah.

So, this week, our TT challenge is color blocking! I thought I'd do something simple for this, though it definitely could have turned out better. I did a little funky french, freehanded. Tape doesn't work out with me very well haha. Anyway, I did a base of China Glaze Surfin for the Boys and did the tips with Nails Inc Baker Street. I adore orange and blue together! And I'm a big fan of the shimmer vs creme thing going on here.

Uneven tips...

I promise it looks better at an arms-length haha.

I seriously can't wait to see what colors my Twinsies have put together!

Midnight Seduction

Here's another freaking stunning polish that the wonderful Brandi from The Collegiate Nail sent me! Klean Colors Midnight Seduction is just perfect. There is SO MUCH glitter in here! And it looks like a night rainbow or something.. I really love how it looks on the nail, it's a dark but still colorful glitter. When I saw it in the bottle, I definitely thought I'd have to layer it. But when I tried it on the nail, I knew I had to rock this polish on its own. Gah! So in love. I'm out of words right now...

spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarkles

Sorry about the overload of pictures, but really. Look!! Oh, and this was 2 coats. And the formula was fine, nothing out of this world, but good for a glitter! Thank you so much Brandi! <3 i="i" it="it" love="love" p="p">

Glimmer by Erica Swatches and Reviews!

Happy Friday! What are everyone's plans for the weekend? I have to go get a bed frame [boring] and start packing to move back to school.. Weird. In other news, I now have a facebook page for my polishes! Take a look: http://www.facebook.com/TwoBirdsPolishes :]

So today I have some seriously pretty glitters for you. I have 6 stunning glitter toppers to show you all today from Glimmer by Erica!

Don't be a Drag, Just be a Queen
Barry M Raspberry, 2 coats

This polish is "a vibrant, sparkling red with silver prism glitter and beautiful red hearts" according to the listing. And it really is! I love how it looks like this at one coat, but for extra bling, definitely go for 2. I was also impressed with the formula on these, really smooth and got a good distribution and amount of glitter on each nail.

Muy Caliente
LtoR: Sally Hansen Red Carpet, Cult Nails Annalicious, OPI, Danke-Shiny Red, Essie Orange, it's Obvious

Muy Caliente, a "super sparkly mix of red, orange, and yellow glitters in a clear base", is one of my favorites!! I'm obsessed with these colors together. It's really fiery-looking. I'd love to do a glitter gradient with this! I can't decide which polish I like it best over, but it miiiiight be Orange, It's Obvious. Or Red Carpet. ahhh, don't make me choose!

50 Shades of No Gray
Essie Boxer Shorts on its own, 2 coats

50 Shades of No Gray is a "sparkly base with black and white hexes and black and white hearts". I'm not usually the biggest fan of heart glitter, but I think it looks really cute in this polish! Application and glitter distribution was the same, really great. I love the sparkly base a lot. I wish I had gotten like 1 or 2 more hearts, but that's the only slight downside.

Ethereal
LtoR: Zoya Song, China Glaze Starboard, OCC RX

Ethereal is a "blue and yellow micro fine glitter base with slightly larger blue and yellow hexes and even bigger blue, green and yellow hexes". I. LOVE. THE YELLOW GLITTERS. They really make such a difference! The polish is just so bright and happy because of it. I like it most over Song, it looks like a little galaxy:]

Green with Envy
LtoR: CG Emerald Sparkle, Cult Nails Deal with It, Revlon Rainforest

This is Green with Envy, " emerald green micro fine glitter, gold micro glitter, emerald green hexes, small gold squares, round gold holos and diamond holos". Uhm, yes please. Green + gold is one of my favorite combinations. I really love this over Deal with It!! I'm also a big fan of the green to gold ratio. Perfection!

Twilight Sky
LtoR: Milani Rad Purple, CG Manhunt, Barry M Raspberry

Finally, Twilight Sky: "a sparkling purple glitter base with purple, blue, and orange micro glitter, blue sapphire holo glitter, purple square glitter, and dark navy blue glitter, all in a clear lacquer base". I feel like the orange glitter in this one does the same thing as the yellow in Ethereal. Gorgeous. How pretty is this over purple??

Again, you can purchase Glimmer by Erica HERE, and honestly, I highly recommend them. Such pretty glitters!! I can't wait to do jelly sandwiches with these:]

Serum No. 5 Review!

Hey ladies! Remember my post from yesterday about Serum No. 5 Shrinking Violet? I now have 3 more Serums to share with you today:] Before the pictures, I'll talk about the application: on all 4 of these polishes, the application was really great. Great amount of glitter and all were opaque in 2 coats [except for the glitter topper obviously]. Also, all the polishes were seriously just pretty. Okay, onto the pictures.

Peachy Keen [2 coats]

I love the shimmery base and the big gold glitters in this one. So hard. But it's really the little teeny gold glitters that steal my heart. It doesn't look like it should make much of a difference, but I love how it added an overall sparkliness to the whole polish.

Girl's Gotta Eat [1 coat over Revlon Runway Pearl, China Glaze Starboard, CG Purr-fect Plum, and a Revlon light purple who's name is escaping me completely...]

My favorite combo of this was over Runway Pearl. Whitish polishes with gold glitter are so appealing to me. Also, I love the holographic glitter in here. It makes the polish so interesting!

 Friendly Tiff's [2 coats]

Okay, I won't lie, this wasn't my favorite of the Serums I got. I think the foily base covers the glitter a little too much for me. That said, I like it a lot more IRL. The overall color is really pretty and at an armslength away, it's way prettier.

What do you think of these polishes?? I think my favorite is Girl's Gotta Eat, I fell hard for that stunner. I want to put it over every polish ever. Especially neutrals. GAH!!

I'm the worst ever..

Ahhh! So so so sorry about not having a TT post up yesterday, all! I was moving my sister into school and was supposed to come back on Monday night and ended up staying until today. I just got back and I know I suck, but here's a double post of flower-inspired manis [because nail art still alludes me, sigh]. So forgive me? *puppy dog eyes*

Okay, so first up I have Shrinking Violet from Serum No. 5, a new-to-me indie brand. The rest of the Serums I have will be up for review tomorrow, so this is a little preview:] Shrinking Violet is honestly just such a pretty polish. It has this light violet creamy base with purple and blue glitters and this great shimmer [which is showing up as yellow specks in some pictures... weird]. Ugh. And it's opaque in 2 coats. So honestly, just perfect.

Going on my toes IMMEDIATELY. Really.

Next up is another new-to-me indie that I went a little overboard on. Got a TON of minis from D&R Apothecary aka Hits Polish. This one is called Marigold, and I have it over Revlon Velvet Rope.

2 coats of Velvet Rope on its own. Squishy crelly, red heaven. Honestly. And great formula.

Pretty right? My favorite part is that gorgeous fiery orange glitter. I swoon. I just wish it were easier to get the flower shaped glitters out:/

Now that you've seen my cheats again [heehee], go take a look at my better halves' amazing floral manis.

Red Ruby Sandwich!

Happy weekend, all:] Anyone have good plans for the weekend? I'm moving my little sister into school tomorrow! Weird... She's currently in our room packing while talking to herself. It's pretty amusing really. Heehee, don't tell her I talk about her ;]

So today, I have a mani I wore before I went off to camp this summer. I feel like I saw this type of combination before from Cordia over at Seriously Swatched, but I can't find the specific post:/ Anyway, I used Wet n Wild Fuchsia-Rama and Lynnderella Ruby Red Ruby for this mani:

I really really loved this. It made me feel like Valentine's day! 2 coats Fuchsia-Rama + 1 RRR + 1 FR. The formula of both of these was really great also. Which is funnny, since Wet n Wild is like.. a dollar and Lynnderellas are going for insane prices on Ebay.
