Twinsies Hit the Beach!

For this week's TT, we were charged with posting beach inspired nails! And I've had a sucky streak with nail art this summer, so I thought I'd stick to the usual and show you an early franken I made a few years ago. I was going through my collection recently and purging and found this polish, a nude that I made for myself, but with a little something extra:] If this had a name, I've totally forgotten it, but this is a warm nude with gold shimmer and iridescent blue microglitter :]

Shimmahhhh: Part 1

I got some great Shimmer polishes to show you today. I'm gonna spam you with pictures, then talk after.

2 coats

LtoR: Revlon Royal, Revlon PowderPuff, Essie Bikini So Teeny, American Apparel Butter

3 coats

LtoR: Revlon Velvet Rope, OPI Steady as She Rose, China Glaze Sunset Sail, Misa Grey Matters

Both of these had great formulas and were easy to work with and honestly looked so stunning to me. I particularly liked Mary, those slightly bigger black glitters had my heart! I will say though, that while I didn't have any CS problems or anything, I've heard of some CS inconsistencies. So take that for what you will:]

Shimmer Polishes can be found here for $12 a polish. These polishes were provided to me in exchange for an open and honest review. All thoughts are my own and unbiased.

First Guest Post!

Hello all! Today's guest post comes from the wonderful Jenna from I'm Still Thinking :]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey everyone! I hope you are all doing well!
First, I want to say Thank You to Sarah for having me a as a guest poster. For those who don’t know me, I’m Jenna from I’m Still Thinking… I was so happy when Sarah asked for volunteers to guest post. I love helping out!
So when Sarah first asked for volunteers I really wracked my brain trying to think of the perfect mani. I never did come up with an idea. I had about a million camp related ideas, but never got around to trying them. :O/
GEDC0044
I had been wanting to try this mani for a while and after I did it I knew I wanted to use it for this post. Sorry, I notice a couple tips look a bit ragged…I think there may have been a stray flakie or two O.o
GEDC0046
I am not your standard french tip kinda girl. I am normally anti-french tip, lol. But from the moment I first laid eyes on Barielle Buddha-ful I knew it was meant for a french tip mani on me. It is a very sheer nude polish with green/blue flakies.
GEDC0048
The gold was a last minute touch to cover up my shakey tip lines, but I really think it goes great with this mani.

I know this is a completely anti-camping mani, but it turned out so good I couldn’t resist using it for this post. I hope ya’ll enjoyed it. Hurry back Sarah…we miss you a lot <3

Thank you so much for your post, Jenna!! <3 I am LOVING that Barielle flakie!

Nudey!

Happy Fathers' Day:] Hope your celebrations go well today! I actually just got in Girly Bits' Daddy's Little Girl, which would have been great to wear today, but I've been out of my mind busy with my church festival [which you should check out if you're in the area! Lots of good food and I'm working the pastry booth heehee:

Anyway, here's a new favorite nude polish of mine: Fast Track from China Glaze. Disclaimer: it looks better in person than in these pictures, it's a little cleaner looking. 2 coats.

Gold shimmer.. I swear, it gets me every time.

SoFlaJo's Blue Martini

Happy Friday everyone! Today I have a polish from SoFlaJo's Happy Hour Collection: Blue Martini. She describes BM as: "a jelly filled with multiple sized diamond, short tinsel, and round holo glitters." I did a little layering experiment with this one, as well as show it on its own:] I'll tell you the polishes it's layered over under the individual close ups.

3 coats of Blue Martini

1 coat over Nails Inc Baker St

1 coat over Love and Beauty Green

1 coat over Sally Hansen Crinoline

So I think my favorite way to wear this polish is by itself , though I do think it looks interesting over the green as well!! Formula: really easy to work with, and self-leveled really well, but I wish there were more of those great diamond glitters in it. I shook the bottle a lot, but only got a few out.

*The product in this post was provided for review in exchange for my honest opinion*

Twinsie Tuesday: Funky French

Hi! That post title has a lot of alliteration, hahaha. Anyway, for this week's theme, we had to do a funky french. I generally don't do much nail art or jazz up my manis too much [they're usually a whole mess of glitter, anyway lol], but I really liked this funky french from Nails Stories, so I decided to give it a whirl. It definitely didn't turn out as gorgeous as Vanessa's but I liked the overall look:] I felt very retro!

I used 2 coats of Sally Hansen Crinoline for the base and Color Club Fast Woman for the dots and french tip:] It's not the neatest in the world, and it smeared a teeny bit, but I had fun wearing this out on Friday:]

Take a look at the other Funky Frenches my twinsies did!

Sparkly & Girly

Happy happy Friday! Excited for the weekend?? I'm going home to see my little sister in her school musical [Beauty & the Beast, so I'm excited!]. I have a mani I wore last week for you with one of my favorite polishes for spring: Runway Pearl. I don't know what it is about it, but it's just so stinking pretty! It really reminds me of Essie's Kisses and Bises, but opaque. I'm a big fan of how this looks on me, but since you all know I'm a magpie, I had to put some glitter on it! I saw Essie's A Cut Above and slapped on a coat over the 3 coats of RP that I had on and here's the outcome:

I like how the shimmer still shows through the glitter!

So what are your plans for the weekend? Anything exciting??
